Mildura Regional Waste Management Group (MRWMG) is one of Victoria’s 12 Regional Waste Management Groups. Our mission is to promote Sustainable Living for Our Region, through the implementation of sustained behavioural change and best practice delivery. MRWMG coordinate and facilitate waste management activities, working in partnership with Mildura Rural City Council. MRWMG reflect State Government policies such as Sustainability in Action: Towards Zero Waste Strategy. To achieve this MRWMG implement local educational programs with schools, business and events including litter prevention, reduce, reuse and recycle.
The Murray-Darling Freshwater Research Centre (MDFRC) is a multi-disciplinary research centre whose work includes; environmental flows; nutrient cycles; vegetation, algal, fish and invertebrate ecology; macro- and microinvertebrate taxonomy and water quality assessment through biological and chemical monitoring programs. The MDFRC has laboratories located in Mildura and Wodonga on the Murray River in Victoria.
The MDFRC has a vision of healthy and productive aquatic ecosystems in the Murray-Darling Basin and is engaged in the generation, synthesis and communication of freshwater ecological science fundamental to the natural assets of the Murray-Darling Basin while supporting sustainable use of the Basin.
DPI Fisheries are responsible for conserving fish stocks, key fish habitats and threatened species. Promoting quality recreational fishing opportunities and appropriately sharing fisheries resources. Promoting viable commercial fishing and aquaculture industries.
Lower Murray Water’s (LMW) core business is to meet the present and future needs of our customers and community by providing reliable and secure water services.
LMW's area of operation extends from Kerang to the South Australian border taking in the municipalities of Mildura, Swan Hill and Gannawarra. LMW provides the region with urban water and wastewater services, treatment and effluent disposal services, river quality water to stock, garden and irrigation customers, along with the collection and disposal of subsurface irrigation drainage water.
